The position holder to function as a Technician of Boiler and Auxiliary Maintenance and report Head – Boiler Maintenance for themanagement of maintenance within a defined area. This includes providing technical and managerial behavior with the team members, superiors and contractors. Roles and Responsibility
- Supports various plant operations and maintenance groups with engineering-based problem troubleshooting, identification, analysis, and resolution.
- Must have hands on experience with all major jobs of maintenance and shutdown.
- Coordinate with contractors on daily basis and supervise the work, update status of the job.
- Performing pep-talk / tool box meetings on job locations. Ensure proper safety being followed by self, fellow-workers, contractors and other workmen in the location. Plans and controls all activities to provide an accident-free work place.
- Accountable for ensuring that the highest standards of safety on job and good housekeeping practices.
- Applying PTW against the notifications raised by operation / HSE / OS dept.
- Allocating day to day work to the technicians / contractors / working crew. Issuance of materials from warehouse well in advance, without disturbing the performance of the job.
Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills)
- Must have knowledgeBoilerPressure Parts, tube metallurgy, welding electrodes for different materials, electrode composition, heating procedure, normalization ofBoilertube leakage.
- Must have adequate knowledge in PTW system.
- Experience with maintenance of either of large capacity boilers and auxiliaries of configurations i.e. Super critical, Subcritical, two-pass, tower type, wall fired, tangentially fired and CFBC, HRSG(of higher capacity / rating).
- Work closely with the service providers, OEM, contractors to drive penetration at every outage/event.
- Must have knowledgeBoilerPressure Parts, tube design, tube metallurgy, welding electrodes for different materials, electrode composition, heating procedure, normalization ofBoilertube leakage.
- Must have hands on experience in critical jobs like dismantling of pumps, blowers, compressors and other machinery. training to co-workers, subordinates and must have adequate knowledge in PTW system.
- Should have hands on experience in fit-up, structural welding, fabrication, preparation of jig, fixture, pullers for various maintenance jobs, general gas cutting works, etc.
- Must be conversant with height works, hot working zones, confined spaces, high noise zone, slippery areas. Capable in handling erosive medias like oil shale, dust, ash(dry and wet).
Key Attributes (Experience and Qualifications) Necessary:
- Incumbent must Possess a degree in B.Sc. / Diploma from an accredited university in Mechanical / production Engineering.
- Have at least > 5-7 years of experience in solid fuel fired Boiler and auxiliaries maintenance in > 150-200 MW capacity Power Generation units and out of 7 yrs.
- Fluent in English with oral communication skills.
- Maintenance experience of high-pressure boiler, Fans and Blowers, Fuel Feeding equipment, Electro static precipitators, fabric filters, Rotary Ash coolers, mountings, safety valves, actuators, air pre-heaters etc.
Desirable / Preferable:
- Overseas working experience.
- Knowledge and proficient in SAP (PM Module).
- Experience in Fabric filters in integrated ESP.
