Description:
We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager with a minimum of 10 years of experience in purchasing with knowledge in the contracting and construction industry. The ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge of vendor management and local experience, with a proven track record of successful procurement and purchasing management. As the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the procurement process, ensuring that all materials and equipment are purchased at the best possible price, with timely delivery, and ensuring that quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement and maintain purchasing policies and procedures that ensure that all purchases are made in accordance with company standards, within budget and in a timely manner.
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts, terms and pricing to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment and maintain supplier performance metrics.
• Evaluate supplier performance and implement corrective actions as required.
• Monitor and analyze market trends to identify potential cost savings and value-added opportunities.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure that purchasing requirements are aligned with business objectives.
• Oversee the procurement process, from sourcing and contract negotiation through to delivery and payment.
• Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock levels and minimize the risk of stock-outs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role in the contracting and construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of vendor management and local experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex procurement processes and projects.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
