Description: Job Purpose:
Responsible for managing and directing all activities related to aircraft and Ground Support Equipment maintenance and continuing airworthiness, as well as administration support services.
Ensure safety and availability of all aircraft.
Technical Responsibilities:
•Manage and direct all activities of Engineering and Maintenance Department.
•Coordinate with approved maintenance organizations regarding base maintenance, engines, APU's, and components.
•Manage manpower allocation.
•Promote safety and enhance safety measures.
•Ensure availability of competent and qualified individuals.
•Provide external authorities and regulatory bodies with free access to facilities and aircraft.
•Follow-up on issues related to payment of charges and fees.
•Manage aircraft maintenance and continuing airworthiness.
•Manage technical inventory including spare parts, consumables, expendables, and tools.
•Develop feasible plans to improve the fleet of aircraft technical performance and continued airworthiness.
•Manage the maintenance of the fleet of Ground Support Equipment.
•Continuously improve maintenance and engineering capability and scope of approval.
•General & Administrative Responsibilities:
•Formulate, plan, develop and implement long, medium, and short term departmental strategies.
•Prepare periodic reports and endorse suggested plans and programs.
•Prepare balance sheets, estimated budgets, and monitor financial performance.
•Evaluate effectiveness of training courses and monitor their results.
•Carry out performance appraisals for subordinates.
•Nominate a deputy to carry out responsibilities in case of absence.
•Specify manpower requirements.
•Perform any other duties related to the job as assigned by the President.
•Follow-up on employees' affairs including vacations, leaves, etc.
•Disseminate instructions, circulars, and information.
•Educational Qualifications & Technical Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
•Knowledge of applicable regulations.
•Knowledge of maintenance methods.
•Knowledge of a relevant sample of the types of aircraft operated by the company.
Required Training:
•Safety and Security.
•Safety Management System (SMS).
Communication & Working Relationships:
•Internal: President / CEO, all Heads of Departments, Head of Human Resources & Administration, Finance & Accounts.
•External: IATA, Aircraft Owners and manufacturers.
