  Duties and responsibilities
  •To work in the ship repair Team and ensure handling of all enquires for various repair related work.
  •To ensure the review, inspection developing detailed scope of work and quotes for every project/job being enquired by the client.
  •To go to the sites/vessels for getting the feel of the job prior to preparing quotes.
  •To ensure additional jobs a variation orders raised by the operations are duly signed by the customer prior to undertaking the job and ensuring that all concerned personnel are aware of the alteration in the scope of work.
  •To monitor the given job in progress with the estimated time frame and budgeted cost and plan.
  •To update the Commercial manager / General Manager on the activities and progress of the projects and related activities should there be any deviation from the budgeted plan.
  •Perform any other duties assigned by the commercial manager and/ or the General Manager
  •Communicate effectively with all departments ensuring a good working relationship for the benefit of the company.
  •Follow the instruction of department head for any additional jobs.
  •Performs any other duties as may be assigned.
  Required Skills
  •Outstanding mathematics and IT abilities.
  •Proficient in relevant software including MS Office Suite.
  •Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  •Strong problem-solving abilities.

  •Interdisciplinary Knowledge
  •Basic knowledge of AutoCAD is required.
  •Able to read and understand ship blue prints.
  •Strong communication skills-written and verbal. Must be able to communicate with employees of varying education levels and maintain positive employee relations.
  •Must be a highly organized person who can monitor numerous projects at once and can prioritize the workloads of reporting employees. Effective time management skills are a must.
  Minimum Qualifications
  •Bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant field.
  •5 to 8 years relevant experience in a Shipyard an estimator or similar role.
  •Good Command of English.
