Job Summary:
The Operations Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the land transport fleet with a focus on increasing profits. The role involves supervising all fleet ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and managing schedules. The Director will also be responsible for budgeting, analyzing data to identify areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to increase revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the fleet with a focus on increasing profits.
- Supervise all stations and maintain schedules, ensuring driver safety and performance.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments to promote the best use of resources and assure coordinated efforts in achieving objectives.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and safety of the fleet.
- Manage and maintain the overall budget for the transportation department while identifying cost-saving opportunities and revenue-generating initiatives.
- Analyze data to identify areas for improvement, growth, and increased profits within the transportation department and develop strategies to implement improvements.
- Collaborate with maintenance Department to ensure the proper upkeep and maintenance of the fleet.
- Recruit and train new drivers.
- Develop and deliver training programs for drivers and transportation staff.
- Identify and address operational issues and work with team members to develop appropriate solutions.
- Oversee and manage the dispatching process, ensuring that all routes are profitable.
- Conduct performance evaluations of staff, provide feedback, and facilitate ongoing development.
