Job Description: Chief Delivery Officer (CDO)
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Delivery Officer (CDO) to join our company's leadership team.
The CDO will play a pivotal role in overseeing and orchestrating the successful delivery of projects by leading both the Technical Director and the Project Management Office (PMO) Director. The CDO will be responsible for aligning the technical aspects of projects with efficient project management practices to ensure the timely and high-quality execution of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership:
▪Collaborate with the executive team to define the company's strategic goals and objectives related to project delivery and excellence.
▪Develop and implement strategies to enhance project delivery processes, optimize resource allocation, and improve overall project performance.
2. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
▪Lead and provide guidance to the Technical Director and PMO Director to ensure seamless coordination between technical expertise and project management strategies.
▪Foster a collaborative environment that encourages open communication and knowledge sharing across departments.
3. Technical Oversight:
▪Work closely with the Technical Director to ensure that engineering and technical designs meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and innovation.
▪Review and approve technical plans, specifications, and design changes to align with project objectives.
4. Project Management:
▪Oversee the PMO Director in the development and implementation of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
▪Monitor project timelines, budgets, and risks, intervening as necessary to keep projects on track for successful delivery.
5. Risk Management:
▪Identify potential risks and challenges in project execution and develop strategies to mitigate them.
▪Provide guidance in risk assessment, contingency planning, and crisis management to ensure project resilience.
6. Stakeholder Engagement:
▪Foster strong relationships with clients, partners, vendors, and regulatory bodies to ensure effective communication and alignment of project goals.
▪Address any stakeholder concerns and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
7. Performance Measurement:
▪Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for project delivery and monitor these metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and processes.
▪Implement continuous improvement initiatives based on data-driven insights.
8. Leadership and Development:
▪Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of technical and project management professionals.
▪Provide guidance for career development, training, and skill enhancement of team members.
Qualifications and Requirements:
▪Bachelor's or master’s degree in in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering. Advanced degree is a plus.
▪Proven track record of successfully leading complex projects and managing cross-functional teams.
▪Strong understanding of engineering principles, methodologies, and project management best practices.
▪Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
▪Strategic thinker with the ability to align technical excellence with business objectives.
▪In-depth knowledge of risk management, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance in the industry.
▪Proficiency in project management software and tools.
▪Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience in project leadership roles.
