Job Title: Civil Works / Subcontractor Manager
We are currently seeking an experienced Civil Works / Subcontractor Manager to oversee and manage subcontractors and civil works associated with our projects within these industries.
Job Description: As the Civil Works / Subcontractor Manager, you will play a vital role in managing the civil aspects of our projects and ensuring the successful collaboration with subcontractors. Your expertise in civil engineering and subcontractor management will contribute to the efficient execution of projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
•Subcontractor Management: Oversee the selection, onboarding, and management of subcontractors for various projects. Establish clear communication channels, scope of work, and performance expectations. Ensure subcontractors adhere to project timelines and quality standards.
•Civil Engineering Expertise: Provide technical guidance and expertise in civil engineering matters related to project planning, design, and execution. Collaborate with internal teams and subcontractors to ensure civil works align with project requirements.
•Contract Negotiation: Participate in contract negotiations with subcontractors to establish favorable terms and conditions. Ensure contracts are comprehensive, addressing project scope, deliverables, milestones, and payment terms.
•Resource Allocation: Collaborate with resource managers to allocate manpower, equipment, and materials effectively for civil works. Monitor resource utilization and adjust allocations as needed to meet project goals.
•Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure civil works meet industry standards, project specifications, and safety regulations. Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance.
•Project Coordination: Work closely with project managers and cross-functional teams to integrate civil works seamlessly into overall project plans. Ensure civil aspects are well-coordinated with other disciplines.
•Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges related to civil works and subcontractor performance. Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address potential issues.
•Budget and Cost Management: Monitor civil works expenditures, track costs, and ensure adherence to allocated budgets. Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate cost reporting and forecasting.
•Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain open communication with internal stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and senior management. Address concerns, provide progress updates, and foster positive working relationships.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Minimum of 20 years of experience in civil engineering, construction management, or subcontractor management within the relevant sectors.
• Proven experience in managing subcontractors and civil works for diverse projects.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and industry best practices.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Familiarity with local regulations and safety standards.
• PMP or relevant certifications are advantageous.
