Description:
We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager to join our team and lead our efforts in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, protecting the environment, and maintaining regulatory compliance within our manufacturing facilities in the cement and building chemicals industry. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving our commitment to safety, health, and environmental excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Safety Leadership:
- Develop and implement safety policies, programs, and initiatives that promote a safety-first culture.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Provide safety training and guidance to employees and contractors.
2. Environmental Compliance:
- Oversee environmental compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Monitor and report on environmental performance, including emissions, waste management, and resource conservation.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce the company's environmental footprint.
3. Health and Wellness:
- Promote employee health and wellness programs.
- Manage occupational health programs, including medical examinations and wellness initiatives.
- Collaborate with medical professionals to ensure the well-being of employees.
4. Regulatory Affairs:
- Stay up-to-date with changes in health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Ensure the company's compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Interface with regulatory agencies and manage necessary permits and approvals.
5. Emergency Response and Preparedness:
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
- Conduct drills and exercises to ensure readiness.
- Coordinate with local authorities and emergency services.
6. Training and Education:
- Develop and deliver training programs related to safety, health, and environmental matters.
- Educate employees on best practices and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- OSHA, NEBOSH, CSP is preferred.
- 12+ Years of experience of wich last 5 in health, safety, and environmental management, preferably in the manufacturing and heavy industry sectors (cement, building chemicals).
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in using safety management software and tools.
