  • Description:
    We are seeking a highly experienced Procurement Engineer with a strong background in contracting and construction to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement within the construction industry, with prior exposure to the GCC region being a significant advantage.
    Responsibilities:
    1. Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective and timely acquisition of materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects.
    2. Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers/vendors based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and conditions.
    3. Contract Management: Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts with suppliers and subcontractors. Ensure compliance with legal and contractual requirements, as well as company policies and procedures.
    4. Procurement Planning: Collaborate with project managers and engineers to forecast procurement needs and develop procurement plans aligned with project timelines and budgets.
    5. Material Management: Coordinate the procurement, delivery, and inventory management of materials and equipment to support construction activities. Monitor inventory levels and optimize inventory turnover to minimize costs and project delays.
    6. Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous improvement in procurement processes. Monitor and control project procurement budgets to achieve cost objectives.
    7. Quality Assurance: Ensure that procured materials and equipment meet quality standards and specifications. Implement quality assurance measures throughout the procurement process to mitigate risks and ensure project success.
    8. Compliance: Stay abreast of relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices related to procurement and construction. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical standards in all procurement activities.
    Requirements:
    1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management is a plus.
    2. Minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the contracting and construction industry. Prior experience in the GCC region is highly desirable.
    3. Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and techniques. Familiarity with construction materials, equipment, and specifications.
    4. Proven track record of successful procurement management, including strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and contract negotiation.
    5. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
    6. Analytical mindset with the ability to conduct cost analysis, evaluate supplier performance, and identify process improvements.
    7. Proficiency in procurement software and tools, such as ERP systems, e-procurement platforms, and MS Office suite.
    8. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
