Description:
The General QA/QC Lead Engineer will oversee the implementation and management of quality assurance and quality control processes across various construction projects. This role requires a deep understanding of construction quality standards, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and strong communication skills in both Arabic and English. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience from a contracting background and have a proven track record in the KSA and GCC markets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Management:
- Develop and implement QA/QC procedures, standards, and specifications to ensure project quality requirements are met.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
2. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive QA/QC documentation and records, including inspection reports, test results, and quality certifications.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on quality performance, highlighting areas of improvement and corrective actions taken.
3. Coordination and Communication:
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure quality objectives are understood and met.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all QA/QC-related matters, facilitating clear and effective communication across all stakeholders.
4. Issue Resolution:
- Identify quality issues and non-conformances, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Provide technical guidance and support to resolve quality-related issues promptly and effectively.
5. Training and Development:
- Develop and deliver training programs for project teams on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement within the organization.
6. Compliance and Standards:
- Stay current with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in QA/QC.
- Ensure all projects adhere to local and international quality standards, including ISO and other relevant certifications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in QA/QC within the construction industry, with a strong background in contracting.
- Proven experience in the KSA and GCC markets is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of construction quality standards, practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication skills in both Arabic and English.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in QA/QC software and tools.
- Professional certifications in quality management (e.g., CQE, CQA, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor).
- Master’s degree in a relevant field is a plus.
- Experience with large-scale civil construction projects.
