The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the full operations of a medium-sized pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Jordan. The role involves full P&L accountability, operational leadership, and strategic oversight across all functions, including production, quality, regulatory, commercial, finance, and supply chain. The ideal candidate will bring over 20 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and demonstrate strong knowledge of regional markets, especially Iraq and GCC countries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of pharmaceutical manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with local and international regulatory standards (e.g., GMP, FDA, EMA).
- Full P&L responsibility, driving profitability, operational efficiency, and cost optimization.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business objectives, including market expansion in Iraq and GCC countries.
- Oversee production planning, quality assurance, R&D, supply chain, and sales functions to ensure seamless coordination and operational excellence.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including regulatory authorities, clients, distributors, and business partners.
- Identify new business opportunities, product lines, and partnerships to drive growth.
- Ensure alignment with corporate governance standards and reporting requirements to the board or shareholders.
- Lead, mentor, and develop cross-functional teams; build a performance-driven culture.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market dynamics to ensure strategic responsiveness.
- Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance across all operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (advanced degree is a plus, e.g., MBA or MSc in Pharmaceuticals/Operations).
- Minimum 20 years of experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing a pharmaceutical manufacturing operation.
- Proven track record in managing a P&L and driving business performance.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Experience or exposure to business development and operations in Iraq and GCC markets is highly desirable.
- Fluent in Arabic and English
