  • Description:
    1. Responsibilities:
    2. Define and execute the engineering vision in alignment with dark store operational goals.
    3. Plan and optimize layouts of dark stores for maximum space utilization, workflow efficiency, and compliance with civil codes.
    4. Oversee the installation, maintenance, and lifecycle of store equipment and infrastructure, including HVAC, racking, and refrigeration systems.
    5. Drive the adoption of automation and technological solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
    6. Lead engineering projects, manage budgets, timelines, and vendor contracts.
    7. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, civil codes, and promote energy-efficient practices.
    8. Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, and IT teams to align engineering initiatives with business needs.
    9. Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing engineering and design team.
    10. Plan and manage capital expenditures (CapEx) and operational expenditures (OpEx).
    11. Oversee vendor and service contracts related to maintenance, calibration, and spare parts management.
    12. Develop and manage an asset management framework for all dark stores, covering equipment, machinery, IT, and fixtures.
    13. Monitor asset performance to identify optimization opportunities and achieve cost savings.
    14. Track the lifecycle of assets, including acquisition, installation, maintenance, and replacement planning.
    15. Requirements:
    16. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical).
    17. Strong understanding of dark store or warehouse design, layout optimization, and relevant engineering codes (civil, structural, and safety).
    18. Experience with asset lifecycle management and planning for capital and operational expenditures.
    19. Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS/OMS).
    20. Experience in vendor management, contract negotiations, and regulatory compliance.
    21. Knowledge of energy optimization and sustainability practices.
    22. Familiarity with financial analysis and using KPIs for operational decision-making.
    23. Professional certifications in Project Management (PMP/PRINCE2), Facilities/Asset Management, or Lean Six Sigma (preferred).
