  Qualifications for Head Waiter / Head Waitress

  1. Education & Training

  • High school diploma or equivalent; diploma in Hospitality or Hotel Management is a plus.
  • Formal training in customer service or restaurant operations is advantageous.

  2. Experience

  • Proven experience as a Waiter/Waitress, Senior Waiter, or Head Waiter/Head Waitress in a restaurant or hotel environment.
  • Experience supervising or leading front-of-house staff is highly preferred.

  3. Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of service standards, restaurant etiquette, and POS systems.
  • Ability to handle customer complaints professionally and maintain guest satisfaction.
  • Organizational skills to manage staff schedules and workflow efficiently.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  4. Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in fine dining or luxury hotel restaurants.
  • Familiarity with inventory control, order management, and staff training.
  • Professional appearance, demeanor, and strong customer service orientation.
