  Qualifications for Hostess

  1. Education & Training

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a diploma in Hospitality or Customer Service is a plus.
  • Basic training in front-of-house operations or customer service is advantageous.

  2. Experience

  • Proven experience as a Hostess, Front Desk Staff, or in a customer service role, preferably in a restaurant or hotel environment.
  • Experience managing reservations, waiting lists, or guest seating is a plus.

  3. Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Friendly, professional, and polished appearance and demeanor.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to handle guest complaints or requests professionally.
  • Basic knowledge of reservation systems, POS software, and telephone etiquette.

  4. Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in fine dining, hotels, or high-volume restaurants.
  • Multilingual skills to communicate with international guests.
  • Ability to assist in training new front-of-house staff.
