  Qualifications for Captain Waiter

  1. Education & Training

  • High school diploma or equivalent; diploma in Hospitality or Restaurant Management is a plus.
  • Basic training in front-of-house operations and customer service is advantageous.

  2. Experience

  • Proven experience as a Captain Waiter, Head Waiter, or senior front-of-house staff.
  • Experience supervising and coordinating a team of waiters is preferred.
  • Experience in fine dining, hotels, or high-volume restaurants is an advantage.

  3. Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations, service etiquette, and POS systems.
  • Ability to handle guest complaints professionally and maintain high service standards.
  • Organizational and multitasking skills to manage tables and staff efficiently.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

  4. Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to train and mentor junior waitstaff.
  • Familiarity with inventory control, order management, and staff scheduling.
  • Multilingual skills to communicate with international guests.
