Head of MENA Patents to lead the regional Patent practice, drive operational excellence, enhance client service standards, and support business growth across multiple jurisdictions. This leadership role requires a highly accomplished Patent professional with strong commercial acumen, regional expertise, and the ability to lead high-performing teams while contributing to executive-level strategic initiatives.
Description
Strategic Leadership & Practice Management
- Lead and oversee all aspects of the regional Patent practice across the MENA region.
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve business objectives, operational excellence, and sustainable growth.
- Monitor departmental KPIs and performance metrics to ensure targets are consistently achieved.
- Manage the Patent practice budget and financial performance in coordination with senior leadership.
- Contribute to executive-level strategic planning, growth initiatives, and business expansion efforts.
- Establish and maintain service standards that ensure high productivity, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction.
Business Development & Client Relationship Management
- Drive revenue growth through client retention, cross-selling opportunities, and new business development.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders across the region.
- Identify market opportunities and contribute to the expansion of Patent-related services.
- Support the organization's commercial objectives through proactive business development initiatives.
Patent Advisory & Technical Leadership
- Provide high-level Patent advice, strategic guidance, and technical expertise to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee complex Patent matters and ensure the delivery of high-quality professional services.
- Act as a subject matter expert and represent the Patent practice with credibility and professionalism.
- Share knowledge and best practices across teams to strengthen technical capabilities.
Operational Excellence & Innovation
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across Patent operations and service delivery processes.
- Promote the adoption of technology, automation tools, and AI-driven solutions to improve efficiency and client service.
- Ensure operational processes remain aligned with industry best practices and business objectives.
- Drive innovation and digital transformation initiatives within the Patent practice.
People Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, coach, and develop Patent professionals and paralegal teams across the MENA region.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous development.
- Support succession planning, talent development, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Promote positive working practices and a collaborative regional culture.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: Extensive senior-level experience in Patent practice management, including leadership of Patent operations across multiple jurisdictions within the MENA region.
- Leadership Experience: Proven experience leading Patent teams and managing regional operations at a senior management, Partner, Director, or equivalent leadership level.
- Business Development: Demonstrated success in client relationship management, business development, revenue growth, and strategic planning.
- Technical Expertise: Strong Patent advisory experience with the ability to provide strategic legal and technical guidance.
- Technology Skills: Strong understanding of technology platforms, digital transformation initiatives, and AI-driven solutions.
- Stakeholder Management: Excellent executive-level communication, leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Languages: Fluency in English is required.
- Location: MENA Region.
- Availability: Immediate or 30-day joining preferred.
