    Position Overview Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, the Cost Control Engineer will be responsible for the control budget, cost report analysis and forecasting. This will include working closely with the project team to ensure actual data is captured and recorded correctly and that hours, installed quantities, costs and progress are accurately tracked against the control budget. In addition, this position is responsible for setting up and managing owner initiated and sub-contractor changes. This position is also key in ensuring information flow from the project to the accounting department and plays a key role in understanding the current financial position of the project as well as estimated costs/ revenue at completion.
    Key Responsibilities

    ·Review the Project Controls Plan, Change Management Plan, and Schedule Management Plan and ensure that all conditions (e.g. processes, reports, cut-offs, etc.) are applied and fulfilled while executing the work.

    ·Ensure actual data is captured and coded correctly and accurate production quantities are entered by the field.

    ·Interact with field personnel to ensure production and accounting processes/procedures are in place and functioning.

    ·Review revised drawings and ensure any scope changes are properly estimated with the help of the Change Management Lead and incorporated into the Control Budget.

    ·Perform trend analysis and notify management of critical issues and assist in creation of Change Requests.

    ·Manage the existing cost control system for the project so that contract & sub-contractor changes can be managed accurately.

    ·Perform monthly cost forecasting exercise, explaining variation against the Control Budget and changes from last monthly forecast.

    ·Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of operational issues and effectively work with and support the project team including assisting and working with the project team to compile & regularly update the forecast to complete the project.

    ·Prepare & manage project cash flow based on the latest forecast.

    ·Organize and attend weekly cost meetings with the Senior Project Team in order to provide status updates on the project; document minutes of the meetings.

    ·Work closely with the Project Controls Manager to assist with Project Claims.

    ·Prepare various weekly and monthly reports.  

    Required Knowledge & Skills ·Degree in electrical Engineering ·5 years of experience in project environment performing cost control functions. ·Sound judgment supported by excellent technical, analytical and problem solving skills ·Well organized, self-directed work habits with demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks ·Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large amounts of data ·Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills ·Good team player and a decision maker ·Estimation background ispreferred
