  Assistant CHEMIST

  Reporting to the Operations Engineer (CHEMISTRY AND ENVIRONMENT)

  1. The chemist has the responsibility to conduct qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses or experiments in laboratories for quality and process control.

  1. Such responsibilities include :-
     1. Performs laboratory analysis for demin water, boiler water and cooling water.
     2. Performs Lube & Transformer Oil analysis as per ISO/IEC 17025 and SAMM Accreditation.(Applicable to Paka only)
     3. Carry out the performance test for water treatment plant and chlorination plant.
     4. Inspection and testing of Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) system.
     5. Operates and maintain the water treatment plant, chlorination plant, online sampling system and environmental monitoring system.
     6. Operates and maintains laboratory instrument including spectrophotometers, pH and conductivity meter and ext.
     7. Calibrate the laboratory instruments and on-line analyser i.e. continuous emission monitoring system (CEMS), pH, Oxygen analyser and calorimeter
     8. Prepares chemical reagent for laboratory analysis.
     9. Procurement of chemicals and spare part
     10. Assist Operation Engineer in implementing ISO 19001, ISO 14001and OHSAS 18001
     11. Dealing of ISO/IEC 17025 certification.(Applicable to Paka only)
     12. Preparation of HIRARC, ISRA and EAIA documentation.
     13. Laboratory housekeeping.
     14. To perform any other duties assigned by the Management or his/her direct Supervisor from time to time.
