Position: Engineer - Boiler and Auxiliary Maintenance
Location: Attarat Operation & Maintenance Company, Attarat Um Ghudran, Jordan
The position holder to function as an
Engineer of Boiler and Auxiliary Maintenance and report to
Head –
Boiler Maintenance for the management of maintenance within a defined area. This includes providing technical and managerial behaviour with the team members, superiors and subordinates. He must have thorough knowledge in managing spares inventory and mechanical maintenance of the highest standards of safety and good housekeeping.
- Roles and Responsibility
- Assisting in preparation of standard maintenance procedures (SMP), checklist (preventive maintenance and shutdown) and HIRA.
- Assisting for proper planning of inventory and procurement of spares, consumables, tools (general, lifting, special) and ensuring that adequate spares, consumable and tools availability are in stock to support maintenance activities and meet critical emergencies.
- Ground Inspection and certification of spares and materials received at warehouse. Clearing IRN(Inspection Release Note) for further processing.
- Assisting Head Boiler Maintenance in the preparation and control of budgets, preparation of contract technical specifications and technical reports.
- Supports various plant operations and maintenance groups with engineering-based problem troubleshooting, identification, analysis, and resolution.
- Coordinate with contractors on daily basis and supervise the work, update status of the job.
- Raise approval, generate Purchase Requisition of spares, consumables, stationaries, etc. required for maintenance jobs. Clearing of monthly AMC RABs, vendor bills, supplier invoices after verification.
- Develop plant modification and improvement proposal. Generate maintenance procedure / method statements for critical maintenance jobs. Responsible to adhere FIFO for the general consumable like lube oil, grease, paints, etc.
- Performing pep-talk / tool box meetings on job locations. Ensure proper safety being followed by the contractors and the workmen in the location. Plans and controls all activities to provide an accident-free work place.
- Applying PTW against the notifications raised by operation / HSE / OS dept.
- Authority and Accountability
- Authorized for leading and supporting other engineers and subordinates within the section.
- Accountable for ensuring that the highest standards of safety on job and good housekeeping practices.
- Allocating day to day work to the technicians / contractors / working crew. Issuance of materials from warehouse well in advance, without disturbing the performance of the job.
- Authorized in renewal of boiler certificates and forms of Boiler and Aux Boiler, clearances for safety valves, safety valve floating and other mountings.
- Authorized in coordinating with TPI / competent authority for testing and calibration of all the T&Ps like hoist, lifting tools, jacking tools and hydra-cranes, boiler elevators, etc
- Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills)
- Experience with maintenance of either of large capacity boilers and auxiliaries of configurations i.e. Super critical, Subcritical, two-pass, tower type, wall fired, tangentially fired and CFBC, HRSG(of higher capacity).
- Plant assessments to identify challenges and propose technical solutions. Develop mechanism to minimise the maintenance cost and monitor healthiness of plant equipment.
- Work closely with the service providers, OEM, contractors to drive penetration at every outage/event.
- Preparation of Engineering Procedures, method statement for the respective department and provide guidance to theboilermaintenance technicians to maintain equipment in a safe and cost-effective manner.
- Ensure availability of all equipment ofboilerarea. Assist in RCFA to avoid future occurrences.
- Must have knowledgeBoilerPressure Parts, tube design, tube metallurgy, welding electrodes for different materials, electrode composition, heating procedure, normalization ofBoilertube leakage.
- Provide training to co-workers, subordinates and must have adequate knowledge in PTW system.
- Should have good knowledge and hands on experience on corrosion control, welding, cutting and general fabrication works, etc.
- Must be conversant with height works, hot working zones, confined spaces, high noise zone, slippery areas. Capable in handling erosive medias like oil shale, dust, ash(dry and wet).
- Key Attributes (Experience and Qualifications)
Necessary:
- Incumbent must Possess a bachelor’s degree (BE or BTech) from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering.
- Have at least > 7-9 years of experience in solid fuel fired Boiler and auxiliaries maintenance in > 150-200 MW capacity Power Generation units and out of 9 yrs. candidate should have worked as front-line engineer for minimum> 3years.
- Fluent in English with oral and written communication skills.
- Planned, routine maintenance, major and minor overhaul of high pressure and temperature boilers, steam systems, Fuel supply systems along with associated auxiliaries ensuring safety, high availability and reliability of equipment.
- Maintenance experience of high-pressure boiler, Fans and Blowers, Fuel Feeding equipment, Electro static precipitators, fabric filters, Rotary Ash coolers, mountings, safety valves, actuators, air pre-heaters etc.
- Knowledge of Codes and standards to be adopted and followed for material procurement and maintenance procedures.
Desirable / Preferable:
- Having NDT experience with valid certificate min level-2 is preferred.
- Overseas working experience.
- Knowledge and proficient in SAP (PM Module & MM Module).
- Experience in ESP integrated Fabric filters and oil shale handling plant.
