  LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

  Reporting to the Operations Engineer (CHEMISTRY AND ENVIRONMENT)

  1. The Lab Technician has the responsibility to support chemist and operation engineer (C&E) in performing routine test and plant preventive maintenance activities.

  1. Such responsibilities include :-
     1. Performing laboratory tests in order to produce reliable and precise data to support scientific investigations.(ISO 17025 requirement);
     2. Carrying out routine tasks accurately and following strict methodologies or standards to carry out analyses;
     3. Preparing and collecting samples, either inside or outside jobs (water and oil samples);
     4. Constructing, maintaining and operating standard laboratory equipment, for example: titrators, pipetting machines and pH meters;
     5. Resolves problems by examining and evaluating data; selecting corrective steps.
     6. Ensuring the laboratory is well-stocked and resources;
     7. Recording and sometimes interpreting results to present to Chemist;
     8. Using computers and performing mathematical calculations for the preparation of graphs;
     9. Following and ensuring strict safety procedures, safety checks and Laboratory Housekeeping.
     10. Providing technical support to the Chemist or Team.
     11. Perform Routine, Test, Plan and Maintenance schedule.
     12. To perform any other duties assigned by the Management or his/her direct Supervisor from time to time.
