C&I Engineer Job Description
The C&I Engineer is responsible for the continuous control and instrumentation of all activities associated with the plant and their ancillaries in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maintaining all C&I equipment in a thermal power station with unit capacity 2 X270 MW. He shall be fully familiar with DCS and PLC, EHTC, BMS/FSSS, Field Instrumentation, Analog Closed Loop Controls, Equipment Protections, permissive schemes and Networking System activities and capable to take decisions independently and/or in consultation with the Head of the Section.
- Maintaining of portable instruments calibration schedule and records.
- Ensuring that the highest standards of safety and good housekeeping are achieved in his area of work in the section and with contractors.
- Preparing standard maintenance procedures (SMP) and Risk assessment in his area of work in the section.
- Defining and developing suitable maintenance strategies including but not limited to preventive and predictive techniques, failure analysis and the assessment of engineering risk in his area of work in the section.
- Accountable for proper planning of spares inventory (critical and recommended) and ensuring that adequate spares are stocked to support maintenance activities in his area of work in the section.
- Accountable for proper planning of consumables and tools and ensuring that adequate consumables are stocked, and tools are available to support maintenance activities in his area of work in the section.
- Supporting the Head of C&I Maintenance in the preparation and control of budgets.
- Developing and managing outage plans in his area of work in the section.
- Preparing contract technical specifications and technical reports in his area of work in the section.
- Exercising control of staff in the areas of discipline, assessment, development and training.
- Making a positive personal contribution to PTW system, safety, security and good housekeeping.
- Responsible for effective implementation and sustenance of Maximo in his area of work in the section.
- Coordination for statutory compliances and routine works in his area of work in the section
- Undertaking other related duties within the roles and responsibilities as required by the Head of the Section.
Candidates for this position should possess minimum qualifications and competencies as follows:
- Engineering Degree
- Having min 2 years of experience as C&I Engineer in a CFBC fired power plant.
- Familiar with power station concept, Safety Rules and Function Diagram
- High motivation, self starter and capable to work under pressure
- Be able to read and speak English
