Head - Head- Maintenance Planning & Condition Monitoring and report to
Maintenance Manager for the management of day to day and long term maintenance integrity for the plant equipments, in line with established policies, procedures and frameworks, to ensure optimal value and results for the OMCO and enabling the business to meet availability, reliability and generation targets management and maintenance of the highest standards of safety and good housekeeping.
The Summary of Role, Accountability, Responsibility and Authority
- Acts as a motivated team member to effectively drive and optimize the completion of planned, break‐down maintenance and repair activities for the goal of reliability and availability of plant equipment.
- Authorized for leading and supporting engineers and other staff within the section.
- Accountable for ensuring that the highest standards of safety and good housekeeping are achieved by the section and contractors.
- Accountable for preparing standard maintenance procedures (SMP) and Risk assessment.
- Authorized for defining and develop suitable maintenance strategies including but not limited to preventive and predictive techniques, failure analysis and the assessment of engineering risk.
- Accountable for proper planning of spares inventory (critical and recommended) and ensuring that adequate spares are stocked to support maintenance activities.
- Accountable for supporting the Maintenance Manager in the preparation and control of budgets.
- Accountable for developing and managing outage plans.
- Accountable for preparing contract technical specifications and technical reports.
- Accountable for exercising control of staff in the areas of discipline, assessment, development and training.
- Responsible for making a positive personal contribution to PTW system, safety, security and good housekeeping.
- Provide necessary resources for effective implementation and sustenance of Maximo.
- Responsible for undertaking other related duties within the roles and responsibilities as required by the Maintenance Manager.
Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills)
- Regularly coordinates priorities with the management team, placing specific emphasis on obtaining the input of operations personnel in the setting of priorities.Completes a summary of work status at the end of each day.
- Works with plant Area Managers to effectively identify and prioritize both short‐term and long‐term maintenance tasks and project activities.
- Strong practical experience in condition monitoring and diagnosing in all process equipment in the Power plant.
- Accurately measures and assesses maintenance back‐log in its various forms and works to maintain and balance back‐log for consistent contractor load against steady progress in maintenance goals.
- Participates in outage planning activities such as scope identification and control, scheduling, coordination, risk assessment, execution, and continuous improvement.
- Determines and includes QA/QC requirements on jobs, and evaluates QA/QC performance together with plant Area Managers.
- Monitoring equipment vital signs and initiate repairs on a priority basis to optimize productivity and component life.
- Identifies specific safety hazards that will be encountered in the performance of the proposed work.
- Develops safety procedures, including lock‐out/tag‐out procedures available to employees. Ensures that all aspects of the existing company safety policy are incorporated into the job plan.
- Conducts field walk downs to identify and document job requirements.
- Plans jobs with appropriate level of detail for the given skilled trades workforce.Estimates required hours on work order tasks, total work order duration, and skills required to perform task.
- Gathers necessary engineering or technical documents, specifications, and drawings.
- Writes clear and concise work procedures.
- Works with Area Managers to identify and arrange for parts required to perform the work, ordering tools and equipment as needed.
- Prints and delivers work orders to the skilled trades in conjunction with the weekly work schedule.
- Upon completion of jobs, communicates with skilled trades regarding ideas and procedures that would make future jobs more efficient
- Follows‐up on all work orders and maintenance log items to ensure that WOs are completed and closed when work is identified as finished.
- EAM/CMMS‐Maximo experience will be an added advantage.
Key Attributes (Experience and Qualifications)
Necessary:
- Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering.
- Have at least >10 years of experience in maintenance planning in solid fuel fired power plants of capacity >200 MW and out of 10 yrs. candidate should have worked as Lead for minimum>3years.
- Fluent in English with strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated high levels of organization, written/verbal communication and documentation skills with strong leadership skills.
- Planned, routine maintenance, maintenance of all systems along with associated auxiliaries in power plant during Major and Minor overhaul ensuring safety, high availability and reliability of equipment.
- Knowledge of Codes & standard maintenance procedures required for maintenance of Electrical installations.
Desirable:
- Overseas working experience.
- Understanding of local sensitiveness and values.
