Position : Head- Electrical Maintenance
Location - Attarat Operation & Maintenance Company, Attarat Um Ghudran, Jordan
The position holder to function as a
Head - Electrical Maintenance and report to
Maintenance Manager for the management of electrical system maintenance within a defined area. This includes providing technical and managerial leadership to the team, budgetary control and Spares management and maintenance of the highest standards of safety and good housekeeping.
The Summary of Role, Accountability, Responsibility and Authority
- This position is Responsible and accountable for maintaining all electrical equipment in a thermal power station with unit capacity 2 X270 MW. He shall be fully familiar with Generator, power transformers, Excitation system, DC system, UPS, HV/MV/LV switchgear and capable to take decisions independently.
- Authorized for leading and supporting engineers and other staff within the section.
- Accountable for ensuring that the highest standards of safety and good housekeeping are achieved by the section and contractors.
- Accountable for preparing standard maintenance procedures (SMP) and Risk assessment.
- Authorized for defining and develop suitable maintenance strategies including but not limited to preventive and predictive techniques, failure analysis and the assessment of engineering risk.
- Accountable for proper planning of spares inventory (critical and recommended) and ensuring that adequate spares are stocked to support maintenance activities.
- Accountable for supporting the Maintenance Manager in the preparation and control of budgets.
- Accountable for developing and managing outage plans.
- Accountable for acting as OMCO’s representative for contracts and ensure that high standards of safety, quality and value for money are met.
- Accountable for preparing contract technical specifications and technical reports.
- Accountable for exercising control of staff in the areas of discipline, assessment, development and training.
- Responsible for making a positive personal contribution to PTW system, safety, security and good housekeeping.
- Provide necessary resources for effective implementation and sustenance of Maximo.
- Coordination with NEPCO (Grid Operator) for statutory compliances and routine works.
- Responsible for undertaking other related duties within the roles and responsibilities as required by the Maintenance Manager.
Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills)
- Experienced and familiar with maintenance of all H.V., M.V. & L.V electrical systems in large capacity Power plants i.e Sub stations , Generator and excitation system, Breakers, Transformers, Bus ducts (IPBD/SPBD and NSPBD), AC & DC Drives, actuators, Motor Control Centres, Diesel Generators, Relay system, Metering system and Protection schemes etc.
- Plant assessments to identify challenges and propose technical solutions. Develop mechanism to minimise the maintenance cost and monitor healthiness of plant equipment.
- Work closely with the service providers to drive penetration at every outage/event.
- Preparation of Engineering Procedures for the respective department and provide guidance to thecolleagues in department to maintain equipment in a safe and cost-effective manner.
- Ensure availability of all electrical equipment. Prepare maintain and analyse report ofoutages.
- Provide training to associate workers.
- Experience with Maximo.
Key Attributes (Experience and Qualifications)
Necessary:
- Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering.
- Have at least >12 years of experience in maintenance of electrical installations in >200 MW capacity Power Generation units and out of 12 yrs. candidate should have worked as Lead for minimum>3years.
- Fluent in English with strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated high levels of organization, written/verbal communication and documentation skills with strong leadership skills.
- Planned, routine maintenance, maintenance of Electrical systems along with associated auxiliaries during Major and Minor overhaul ensuring safety, high availability and reliability of equipment.
- Knowledge of Codes & standard maintenance procedures required for maintenance of Electrical installations.
Desirable:
- Having experience in working with Chinese EPC Vendor.
- Overseas working experience.
- Understanding of local sensitiveness and values.
