    Position – Maintenance Demand Planning Superintendent

    Location - Attarat Maintenance Company (AMCO), Attarat Um Ghudran, Jordan

    The Maintenance Planning Demand Superintendent controls and directs the Maintenance Planners short term and long term, Warranty/Reporting Planner and Mechanical Engineer. The key functions in this role are to manage the Maintenance Plan logistics associated with proactive and predictive work tasks, forecasting component changeouts, manage warranty and rotable register, and administer the Maintenance Management (computer) System (MMS). The Maintenance Demand Planning Superintendent reports directly to the AMM (Asset Maintenance Manager).

    The Summary of the role accountability, responsibility and authority

    The Maintenance Demand Planning Superintendent shall:-

    • Directly control the direct reports and provide direction to ensure equipment asset maintenance work is controlled, organized and scheduled.
    • Ensure potential safety observations are documented in all jobs, including Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and maintenance hazards are specifically embedded into Work Orders.
    • Work closely with procurement and other stakeholders and provide technical input in order to forecast significant parts consumption for the next period.
    • Accountable for attaching signed off Risk Assessment to a work order prior to its issue including managing the Risk Register.
    • Participate in the monthly maintenance safety meeting and be familiarized with likely issues effecting job planning.
    • Be involved in the OPEX ‘budget versus actual’ forecasts regularly with the AMM, including emerging unplanned potential Capital Expenditure issues.
    • Ensure efficient flow of work through the workshop and in the field with emphasis on parts delays and insufficient resource levels that effect the Maintenance plan.
    • Maintain effective relationship management with all AMCO stakeholders.
    • Ensure the integrity all work orders before closing them out to archive.
    • Engage the assigned HSE Supervisor for advice when required particularly if it affects work methods.
    • Mentor direct reports and employees within your area of influence and maintain harmonious team relations.
    • Produce the Maintenance Planning Monthly Report, including ad hoc insightful reports for AMM consumption as required.
    • Mable to maintain a >60% planned to unplanned work ratio.
    • Work closely with warehouse and procurement teams to ensure parts are not delayed that directly affect planned work schedules and/or Work in Progress (WIP).
    • Control Supplier/OEM warranties, ensuring claims are expedited and settled as per policy.
    • Be accountable for data integrity and administration of the MMS program (Maximo).

    Knowledge and Skills Required:

    • Able to demonstrate leadership qualities that keep the team motivated and engaged.
    • Possess very good computer literacy skills with a proprietary MMS system (Maximo or equivalent). Work experience configuring master data. Setting up Bill of Materials (BOM) and routine service kits.
    • Able to actively solve people issues centric to relationships and conflict. Recognize and advise the AMM of problems including personal or emerging people issues affecting work flow dynamics and/or relations.
    • Experience effectively managing a small maintenance planning team in a continuous rotating shift operational environment.
    • Have some basic technical knowledge commensurate with materials handling or mining heavy equipment assets.
    • Able to work extended hours to support the team when required.
    • Fluent in Arabic and very good English oral and written communication skills
    • Proficient and conditioned to working in detail with large data sets of information

    Qualifications Required:

    • Minimum >10 years’ solid experience in a large mine maintenance or heavy industrial setting as a maintenance planner or scheduler.
    • A Jordanian University qualification in Engineering or Project Management is preferred but considerable planning and scheduling work experience will be acknowledged.
    • Average overall knowledge of maintenance planning tactics centric to large crushers, conveyors, screens and loading equipment.
    • Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of MS Office Suites (Power Point, Word and Excel)
