  Senior Laboratory Engineer

  Job Purpose The Laboratory Engineer will occupy a significant role in the Oil Shale Quality determination and reporting directly to the Laboratory Lead. He or She is accountable for the controlling and maintaining compliance of the quality measurement process in the lab is performed according to the agreed processes and standards and documented as required, to maintain the all-time valid Accreditation of the Laboratory & meet customers’ expectations. He or She will conduct routine and non-routine analysis, maintain laboratory instruments and equipment. Ensure compliance with the laboratory quality, time, cost and safety standards. In addition to the current contract and job description, the management might assign the lab engineer for duties and responsibilities reflected as developed skills which are required following the development of the company and changes in the business environment. Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Conduct routine and non-routine analysis according to the agreed standard testing methods, troubleshoot and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
  2. Support the senior lab engineer to ensure maintenance, troubleshooting, calibrations and quality control standards are being performed and documented
  3. Prepare daily clear and written summaries of experimental results and report it to the senior lab engineer for revision and approval.
  4. Preform tests for daily received samples according to the agreed scheduled testing timeline and report any issue in the samples that might affect the testing quality.
  5. Maintain high productivity level subject to skills development
  6. Accountable for HSE initiatives in laboratory and take a visible and active role in all aspects of HSE matters, and other safety related matters.
  7. Validate analytical methods for instruments under the supervision of the senior lab engineer
  8. Review analytical procedures and initiate procedural modifications with the support of the senior lab engineer.
  9. Respond to analytical concern and makes necessary corrections and/or modifications to resolve problems.
  10. Prepare clear and concise written summaries of experimental results and to be reported to the senior lab engineer.
  11. Maintain a safe and organized working environment.
  12. Ensure inventory and audits are performed as indicated in the Quality manual.
  13. Effectively interact with technical & operation teams providing support when needed.
  14. Provide monthly personal progress and accomplishments summary
  15. Other duties as may be assigned by the management for internal development.

  Minimum Qualification

  • BSc in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
  • 1-3 years of relevant professional experience in geochemistry laboratories, quality management and safety

  Working Conditions The job location in the Attarat Oil Shale Mine in Attarat Um Ghudran Area, 40 km to the east of Al-Qatrana.
