BSc in Mining Engineering with 2 to 5 years mining experience.
Job Purpose
The Scheduling Engineer will be reporting to the Mine Operations Superintendent. He will be working with the mine planning and mine supervision team to ensure the despatch and delivery of the OB and OS materials in accordance with the required quality and quality from the right extraction point to the right delivery points in timely manner. The main purpose of this role is to provide short-term, medium-term and long-term scheduling of all mining activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparing short term an medium term operational schedules for Mine Operations.
- Converting mine designs into schedules via specified software.
- Liaising with Mine Planning team to ensure that schedules are aligned with production
- forecasts and the operating plans
- Monitor actual performance against schedules and capture, record and report non adherence to the schedules to the mine operation management team
- Identify critical risks to the schedules and plan for elimination of, or contingency forthose risks
- Where practicable identify and correct operational performance issues, consideringweekly, quarterly and annual operational KPIs
- Monitor and analyse scheduling system performance
- Collect, validate and communicate daily and shift operational performance data
- Optimise and schedule development and mining activities in order to achieve theoperational KPIs
- Ability to read the mining and geological maps
- Surveying knowledge is preferred
- English language literacy
- Computer skills including AutoCAD, MS Office skills in Word, Outlook and Excel.
