    Plant Operator The Plant Operator (Main Plant) is responsible for carrying out operations activities on the plant and equipment as instructed by staff in the Central Control Room. The Plant operator is also called as Field Operator. Role Summary The Plant Operator will:
    • Operate the main and ancillary plant on a shift by shift basis, within the confines of the operating procedures and to the Unit Controllers (or other CCR staff) instruction.
    • Carry out regular methodical plant tours, recording important parameters and data, reporting any abnormal conditions to the Control Room and ensuring that defective items have been entered into Maximo ERP system.
    • Maintain an up to date unit operations log, identifying plant status, abnormalities and risks to continued availability, ensuring all such information is communicated during the shift and at the shift hand over.
    • Take a pro-active approach to safety management and actively participate in the Company safety procedures and practices.
    • When so authorised, carry out the activities of an Authorised or Senior Authorised Person as defined in the OMCO Safety Rules.
    • Carrying out process isolation and Electrical system isolation and normalization in line with LOTO procedure.
    • Ensure correct isolation and normalization of lines/equipment for issuing or cancelling PTW.
    • Ensure that good housekeeping is maintained within their area of activity.
    • Maintain an up to date operational log, identifying actions taken when operating plant, ensuring all important information is communicated at the shift hand over.
    • Make a positive personal contribution to safety and good housekeeping.
    • Undertake any additional relevant duties and responsibilities within their capabilities as directed and defined by the Shift in Charge.
    • To notify improvement ideas in areas of plant’s safety and efficiency.
    • Report Near Miss, potential risks by detailing them in the HIRA register
    • Contribute in developing new standard operating procedures.
    • Deliver knowledge sharing sessions as required.
    Note- (These Key Responsibilities are illustrative. The incumbent will be required to perform any other duties which is considered appropriate for his job and as may be assigned by his superiors from time to time.) Candidates for this position should possess minimum qualifications and competencies as follows:
    1. Minimum Engineering Diploma in Mech/Electrical stream from reputed University.
    2. Having min 3 -8 years of experience as Field Operator/ Operation Supervisor in a solid fuel fired power plant. Experience in CFBC boiler will be added advantage.
    3. High motivation, self starter and capable to work under pressure, good communication skills, analytical and logical reasoning.
    4. Be able to read and speak English fluently.
