  • Position : Technician - C&l Maintenance
  • The position holder to function as a Technician C&I Maintenance and report to Engineer C&I Maintenance for the carrying out the control and instrumentation system maintenance within a defined area. This includes maintenance of all field instruments and local controllers to the highest standards of safety and good housekeeping.

  The Summary of Role, Accountability, Responsibility and Authority

  • This position is responsible and accountable for maintaining all C&I field instruments and local controllers in a thermal power station with unit capacity 2 X270 MW. He shall be fully familiar with maintenance, service and calibration of field Instrumentation, motorized on/off and control valves, Pneumatic on-off and control valves, control valve positioners, Vibration monitoring Systems, Turbovisory Instruments, Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems etc.
  • Maintaining of portable instruments calibration schedule and records.
  • Maintain the calibration records for all the Instruments in his area of work in the section.
  • Loop check, Diagnostics and Troubleshooting of Transmitters, switches and other input output devices connected to the DCS and PLCs in his area of work in the section.
  • Calibration and service of all Analyzers in SWAS.
  • Calibration and service of all Analyzers in CEMs.
  • Maintenance and service of all the calibration devices in the C&I Lab.
  • Accountable for ensuring that the highest standards of safety and good housekeeping are achieved in his area of work in the section, workshop, C&I lab and with contractors.
  • Assist the C&I Engineer for proper planning of spares inventory (critical and recommended) and ensuring that adequate spares are stocked to support maintenance activities in his area of work in the section.
  • Assist the C&I Engineer for proper planning of consumables and tools and ensuring that adequate spares are stocked to support maintenance activities in his area of work in the section.
  • Assist the C&I Engineer for developing and managing outage plans in his area of work in the section.
  • Responsible for making a positive personal contribution to PTW system, safety, security and good housekeeping of all the instruments
  • Coordination for statutory compliances and routine works in his area of work in the section
  • Responsible for undertaking other related duties within the roles and responsibilities as required by the C&I Engineer /Head of the Section.
  • Experienced and familiar with maintenance, calibration and service of all field instrumentation related to Main plant and BOP, Water Treatment plant, Ash handling and Oil Shale handling system, SWAS, CEMs, HVAC, CC TV, PA system, etc.
  • Skillset to service Electrical and Pnuematic actuators and pneumatic tubing.
  • Skillset to do cable terminations for field instruments in DCS I/O panels, marshalling panels etc.

  Key Attributes (Experience and Qualifications)

  • Possess a Diploma / ITI in Control and Instrumentation.
  • Have at least >7 years of experience in maintenance of power plant of >200 MW capacity Power Generation units.
  • Good in English with oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated good levels of organization and team working skills.
  • Planned, routine maintenance, maintenance of C&I systems along with associated auxiliaries during Major and Minor overhaul ensuring safety, high availability and reliability of equipment.
  • Knowledge of standard maintenance procedures required for maintenance of C&I installations.
