Chief Accountant - Travels (Oman)
Summary
As Chief Accountant your responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining the general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. Assist in the preparation and distribution of financial statements, should have good knowledge of country codes.
Responsibilities
• Verifies and corrects travel agency data on company accounting system
• Prepares IATA, BSP, Government agency and airline reports
• Verifies travel account billing, invoicing
• Collates airline rebate and incentive claim data, develops claims and verifies payment receipt
• Compiles travel expenditure claim payment data and computer statistics for use in activity reports,
business and operating plans and accountability reports
• Assists in the preparation of tables, indices, charts, graphs and other visual aids for use in statistical presentations
• Maintains records and files and performs general clerical duties as necessary
• Maintains and updates the accounting system
• Maintains records and reports as needed to provide a thorough audit trail for all charges and credits, invoices, credit notes and checks issued or received
• Works under the direction of the General Manager to provide a full service back-office accounting and management information service
• Handles all financial transactions for the company
