  • Supervise, oversee and ensure the adequate implementation of the Project-specific Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (QHSSE) Management System by the Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Contractor Solar PV Plant and future projects, involving but not limited to: hazard identification evaluation and control, accident/injury prevention, hazardous material/waste management, emergency preparedness, fire/life safety, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and environmental regulatory compliance. Responsible for monitoring, inspecting and reporting the quality, health & safety, security and environmental performance of the Projects as well as for the coordination of related QHSSE aspects with the respective O&M Contractors. Responsible for conducting investigations of any incidents or accidents including identification of root cause and follow up on the implementation of corrective and preventive actions in line with good international industry practice (GIIP).
  • This position will, therefore, interface with the Delivery & Operations (D&O) Team both at Project level and corporate level, with the O&M Contractor’s team and country team, as well as other stakeholders to ensure existing processes are in line with national regulations and aiming for international best practice.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Safety, Environmental or related field) & NEBOSH and/or IOSH Certifications.
  • Quality Management Certificate/Training.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ related experience in an HSSE responsibility post.
  • Previous experience in wind farms and solar photovoltaic plants.
  • Preferably previous experience in a company with a strong QHSE culture and/or in internationally financed projects

  (that required meeting IFC Performance Standards on Environmental & Social Sustainability and/or EBRD Performance Requirements).

  • Jordanian National, fluent written and spoken Arabic and English.
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills including a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with regulatory authorities, government officials, Lender representatives and senior executives within the organization.
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
