  Job Purpose

  The Control Room Supervisor will report to Shift Supervisor. He will be responsible for leading activities in the control room and supervises the Fuel Yard production by maintaining the optimal operating conditions. He will effectively communicate other operators and reacts immediately to any deviation or abnormality in the operation. Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Starts and Stops the production from the control room.
  2. Maintain optimal operating condition of the equipment.
  3. Instruct technician working on Control Room.
  4. Report directly to the shift supervisor if any issue encountered.
  5. Work in strict compliance with HSE regulations. Participate risk assessments and HSE investigations related to Fuel Yard Operations when required. Ensure actions noted in the risk assessment have been executed.
  6. Supervise and coordinate the multidisciplinary operating team.
  7. Identifies problems regarding operation of facilities and recommends corrective actions.
  8. Ensure the achievement of daily production volumes and quality.
  9. Attends daily coordination and planning meetings.
  10. Participate all the trainings and courses as instructed by the upper management.
  11. Provide input for daily shift reports and other reports as required from time to time.
  12. Record and maintain log sheets for operations activities and equipment.
  13. Follow operational and safety manual, handbook, instructions and guidelines for the Fuel Yard Operations.
  14. Report immediately all impropriate behaviour or actions that can jeopardize safety, health or environment to shift supervisor.
  15. Participate Fuel Yard Operations development projects as required from time to time.
  16. Perform other related project tasks as required and other related operational tasks as instructed by upper management from time to time.
  17. Supervise critical operational activities such start-ups and shutdowns and provide technical guidance to field operators during that.
  18. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, and maintenance instruments manuals, mechanical flow diagrams.

  Minimum Qualification

  • Diploma in Mining Engineering or relevant field with minimum 5 years of experience in mines or heavy industry operations.

  Specialized knowledge

  • Experience in an automated control room environment is required.
  • Capability to write clear reports in order to track shift activities and production performance.
  • Understanding of technical capabilities of crushers, conveyors, screens, stackers and reclaimers.
  • General mining equipment knowhow is an advantage.

  2. Active Learning by understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
  3. Good in Systems Analysis by determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
  4. Good troubleshooting by Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
  5. English language skills (spoken and written).
  6. Fluent in Arabic.
  7. Good MS Office skills in Word, Outlook and Excel.
  8. An ability to write clear reports.
  9. Good interpersonal skills, energetic and able to work with team or independently and under pressure.
  10. Excellent Teamworking skills.
